I'm going home today!! I'll be back in Texas sometime tonight.
Ok, recap of the 4th and 5th (the minor fall, the major lift! Sorry. Ok, not really. I sing all the time.) We spent Friday night with Aunt Valerie and our cousin Morgan. Shortly before noon on the Fourth, we came back to the RV, and I made some Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge, and Grace walked the probably twenty steps to Uncle Phil and Aunt Kymm's house to make some gluten free, etc. flat bread. Somewhere in there Aunt Alison finished making whatever food she was making. Later, everyone was here, and we had a great time. We swam, we ate, we made water balloons, we ate some more, we talked, we met family, ate again. Aunt Kymm did a great job. At night, we did some fireworks and sparklers, and my favorite sparklers were the kind that was white, and each sparkle expanded at the end. (I'll post pics if/when I can.) On the 5th, we slept in, went swimming in the rain with Morgan, ate, and played cards. It was a pretty chilled day. Oh! And we finished watching War Horse. (which we had begun sometime yesterday) See you tomorrow, when I'll hopefully be able to resume my usual posting schedule! Have a beautiful day! *sings Jamie Grace's Beautiful Day* We went to the National Cowboy Museum on our trip, and found these jewels. ^That is the brand of somebody's ranch Idk how clear that bottom pic is, but it's a Native American, in a lawn chair, wearing amazing sunglasses, and drinking a soda or a slushie or something.
What you will need: • Paper towel or toilet paper roll • Scissors or scrap-booking-paper-cutting-thingy • One sheet of orange construction paper per roll, cut into 8" by 1" strips • A green sheet of construction paper •A small stapler (unlike the picture) Step one: If using a paper-towel roll, cut in half Step two: Staple both edges of a paper strip to the inside of opposite ends of the tubes. Continue all the way around tube. Paper may overlap. Step three: Cut very thin strips of green paper, then staple one end to inside of tube. Finally, take a pencil and wrap the paper around, to form a spiral. Repeat as many times as necessary. Here is the finished product! Happy fall, Y'all!
I spent hours on the internet, picking through many a website claiming "Family-friendly Olympic games!. When you can spend pretty much $0 on any activities, those thing are hard to find! So here are the ones I came up with for summer or winter Olympic games (Sorry about no tutorials. I didn't keep a record of where these ideas came from):
1. Decor/Awards/Opening Ceremony A.Make an Olympic-coloured paper-chain B.Have a medal stand-coffee/end table, step-stool, wooden board C.Make dinner each night be a dish from a different country D.Olympic Torch made of tissue paper E.Medals (We made ours from Mardi Gras coins from the dollar store, hot glued to some ribbon F.Flags (We made 3 teams for our 6 participating family members, and each team made a flag representing their team) G. Number tags 2. Games! A.Thumb-wrestling B. Triathlon: wheel barrow race, three-legged race, bean racing ( Bean racing is where you have two cups, one straw, and 5 beans. Place all the beans in one cup, suck up a bean with the straw, then run and blow it into the other cup. Repeat till all the bean are gone, then team-mate puts them all back, using the same method.) C. Frozen treat (Freeze small item in water. First team to get it out, using only their mouth, wins. D.No-hands table-tennis by blowing the ball around E.Pass the torch (Like Hot-potato) F.Croquet G.Discus throw (Frisbee) H.Broom hockey i.Figure-skate in socks on tile or wood floors j.Dress-up relay (To Play:
K. Standing-on-one-foot contests. Be creative! |
