What you will need: • Paper towel or toilet paper roll • Scissors or scrap-booking-paper-cutting-thingy • One sheet of orange construction paper per roll, cut into 8" by 1" strips • A green sheet of construction paper •A small stapler (unlike the picture) Step one: If using a paper-towel roll, cut in half Step two: Staple both edges of a paper strip to the inside of opposite ends of the tubes. Continue all the way around tube. Paper may overlap. Step three: Cut very thin strips of green paper, then staple one end to inside of tube. Finally, take a pencil and wrap the paper around, to form a spiral. Repeat as many times as necessary. Here is the finished product! Happy fall, Y'all!
I think I'm getting ahead of myself here, but I just can't wait. I am making not only decor to celebrate the Olympics, but I already have done some Valentine's Day crafts. Everything I made used stuff we already had here. This heart wreath is my spin on the heart wreath made by The Hybrid Chick ( http://www.thehybridchick.com/2011/01/paper-heart-wreath/ ) I just stapled the hearts together, and made the wreath heart-shaped to hide the mistake I made ;) This is a home made variation of the paper heart garland I found over How About Orange ( http://howaboutorange.blogspot.com/2010/01/paper-heart-garland.html ). I didn't tape the hearts, I stapled them. I also didn't curl the paper around a pencil.
(That sign in the background is one that one of the Little Ones made) Also, I made a heart garland I saw on Pinterest, but I didn't take pictures because the hearts look a little bit funny ;) |
